Crime Prevention Tips to
keep your property safe during the upcoming months
- P. C. Guy Service, Crime
Prevention Officer at 43 Division
Here are some tips to keep your
property safe during the upcoming months. Keep your doors locked when you
are not home. If you are working in your backyard, keep your front door
and garage door closed and locked. Keep your car windows closed and your
doors locked and remove valuables. Secure sliding glass doors and windows
before leaving the house or going to bed. Ensure you have proper lighting
around your house. A porch light is recommended to be on at night.
Motion sensor lights will come on automatically to illuminate the area.
Clean up your property. Do not leave a ladder or tools outdoors.
Criminals can use them to gain entry to your house. Ensure that storage
sheds are locked. Be aware of door to door solicitors. Do not allow them
into your house and always ask for ID. Be aware of your personal
surroundings and that of your neighbours. Get to know your neighbours and
if you see suspicious activity, always call police.

wandering around the neighbourhood trying car doors, please call 911.
